This is a question that always puzzled me. Yellow window curtains are popular all over the world. I took notice of this the most when looking for furnished apartments online. Many of the windows were covered with yellow window dressing, yellow drapes, yellow valances or just plain yellow panels. Some shades were bright and lemony, some were very light and some were dark and golden. I found this very interesting so I took the time to actually do a little research and find out what is so special about this color that people would use them from Asia to the Middle East.

Yellow is a special color that is often used for window curtains. It comes in several different shades and every shade gives a different kind of look but what they all have in common is  the fresh vibrant feeling. When you think of vibrant, yellow is the color that first pops in mind. It offers the color of the warm sunshine and a fresh feeling. It’s a cheerful color that sends good happy vibes into a room.

With all its positive vibes it can easily be misused and make a room look out of date. Choosing the right shade of yellow for the proper room is critical when it comes to style and designing. You can use bright yellow curtains in places likes the kitchen or bathroom because the fresh feel of lemon colors is expected in these rooms. I cannot agree with this for bedrooms or a living room. A different shade will absolutely be necessary. If you want to use yellow to complement a room it has to be soft because a bedroom needs to be relaxing and not too vibrant.

A living room is also not supposed to be bright and cheery but elegant, so the only choice of shade that would work is gold. Golden drapery coupled with green or navy is extremely elegant. Yellow  curtains are the world’s most favored for a good reason and when used wisely it can offer you a pleasant, cheery and elegant home.
