Keeping the family together in one room can be very enjoyable in the evening when everyone is home from school or work. In order to enjoy the family room you can’t have too many restrictions. I have owned several wool rugs in my life and have always washed and scrubbed them with liquid dish soap, lots of water and a sponge right on my patio.  Other than the rug being a little too heavy to lift and hang on a post there was never a problem. There was always great results and no changes in quality. I always used a little vinegar with the final rinse to brighten the rug and give it a shine. A wool rug can also be spot cleaned if someone does drop food or spill something by accident.

Rugs made from wool come in a vast number of  designs. All types of decorative styles are available from many different countries. Egyptian contemporary wool rugs are particularly popular for their durability, beauty, and fairly low cost. Anyone thinking about decorating the family room and wants to combine comfort and convenience for all family members  should get a rug with these qualities.  Rugs made from other delicate fibers might be beautiful but can not take heavy wear and can not conveniently be washed.
