When you think of things you’d like to spend a lot of money on, automatic pool cleaners rarely spring to the top of the list. More likely, a fancy car or expensive TV float to the top of your wish list. But what you get in terms of time and effort saved when you invest in a quality pool cleaning robot definitely makes this one purchase you might want to give more thought to.

While all pool cleaners essentially perform the same function, they are by no means all created equal. Lower-end models often do a less-than-stellar job and they do so in multiples of hours. In addition, they require considerably more effort and equipment (in terms of hoses to attach to your pool’s filtration system) than their more expensive cousins.

And, though fully automatic, this little robot even features remote control should you want to go back and hit any trouble spots.

While you could certainly spend less on automatic pool cleaners, the reputation and quality Aquabot brings to the game definitely makes their products worth considering. While the highest end Trubo 4 model will cost you a pretty penny, its feature-rich functionality and excellent performance record mean that, if you have the means, you should put this on your wish list, right next to the Porsche you want to buy.

I did a poll just recently and it only involved myself. The poll was “Who hates cleaning their pool?” And ME won by 100%. I have no problem admitting the fact that when it comes to household chores, cleaning my swimming pool is my most hated. Some people find it relaxing but some people also like Lil Wayne. I hate standing by my pool in the middle of the hot summer sun and pushing around a vacuum along the bottom of my pool. For one, I’m standing right there and I cannot go in and two, I have to do it every week.

I never wanted to clean my pool again so I started looking into automatic swimming pool cleaners. I soon realized that they weren’t as expensive as I originally thought. In fact some were down right cheap but I always believe you get what you pay for. I started looking at suction side pool cleaners which acted just like setting my manual vacuum cleaner except it did it all by itself, which I like.

Then I looked into buying a pressure side pool cleaner like a Polaris. They were a little more expensive but super easy to install and didn’t require my filter system to do all the work, instead it has a self-contained filter bag located on top of the cleaner.

Then I saw robotic swimming pool cleaners and I fell in love. They were robots that actually cleaned your swimming pool and they were much easier than the other two cleaners. All I had to do was plug it into a standard outlet and drop it into the swimming pool and it would start cleaning. The only downside was that it was the most expensive pool cleaner I looked at, but like I said before, you get what you pay for.
