Tag: mini oven

Apart of the obvious ones like being cheaper and smaller than a conventional one, there are also a few other reasons around for buying a smaller table top oven, commonly called a mini oven. The first is:
Mini Ovens are green
No, I don’t mean in color and design, you will be hard pressed to find one in this color! They are more likely available in white or metal. I mean in the use of energy and other resources. No matter if you believe in global warming or if you believe that global warming was invented by a guy with the initials A.G., saving money on electricity bills should be always a strong argument for everybody. In the end, and in the current economical situation especially, saving money is decisively a good thing to strive for! So, when firing on a small oven for small task instead of using a conventional one for the same, you will save money on your electricity and energy bill plus recuperating the initial investment in them in a short time.
Mini Ovens are cool
No, again, I don’t mean their looks, I mean that they emit considerably less heat as a conventional and normal sized oven. Just think about this: You have a slice of pizza leftover from yesterdays dinner. What do you prefer? To quickly (hey, that is actually point 3!) reheat it in a small oven that doesn’t heat up your kitchen much and operates with the optimal amount of energy for the task, or to heat up an oven that is several times larger than needed for the task and heats up your kitchen (think summer!) unbearable? How to you prefer to cook, in sweating heat or in a, relatively cool, environment?
Mini Ovens are fast
Fast and quick to heat up, fast and quick to cool down, ready to be cleaned rather sooner then later. In short, these smallish ovens are great time savers! So, no matter what type of mini oven you buy, the reasons are the same for every one.

Like with nearly every product / service / purchase, nowadays you have two main choices to purchase them, either online or offline. Which one will give you the better deal when it comes to buying a mini oven depends entirely on your circumstances.

Buying a mini oven offline

That means basically traveling to the next brick and mortar store that has a decent range of different models in store. Pros are that you can actually see the product that you are about to purchase and that, hopefully, you will find a knowledgeable shop assistant that can answer all your questions. Cons are that you might have to travel quite a bit. If you don’t live in a big city, to find a store that has a reasonable range of mini ovens in store can be difficult and take some time. And to find the best deal, you would obviously have to visit more then one shop and that also can be time consuming.

Buying a small oven online

As long as you stay with a reputable retailer, such as Amazon, you don’t have to worry about warranties and the like. Shopping online allows you also to research a multitude of products from the comfort of your own house. Only con, you don’t get this “hands on” experience and don’t see your prospective purchase in situ.

Summary

It boils down to time saving versus actually seeing and handling your possible purchase. Which one is better for you depends entirely on where you live. If you live in a big city with a lot of hardware and department stores to choose from, offline buying might be better for you. If you live in a more isolated area, buying a mini oven online might give you actually the better deal.

But which one is now the better deal price wise, you ask? I honestly can’t tell you. In general I find better deals online because I can take my time to make an informed decision. And when I count in time and travel expenses, online shopping wins hands down. But if you live opposite a major household items department store that runs regularly promotions, your mileage might vary. As the big pig said: We are all equal, but some of us are more equal ;-)
