As the heat pump circulates the swimming pool’s water, the water from the pool passes to a filter, and then to the heat pump heater. The air from the outside is drawn by the heat pump heater’s fan and draws it over to its heater coil. The evaporator coil has a liquid refrigerant that absorbs the heat from the outside air and is transformed into a gas. The warm gas in the coil then proceeds to the compressor of the pump. The compressor then heats up the temperature of the gas, and then directs it to the condenser. The condenser then transfers the heat from the hot gas to the swimming pool’s water that is circulating in the heat pump. The heated water is then circulated back to the swimming pool. The hot gas as it passes through the condenser coil is cooled down and transforms back to its liquid form and goes back to the evaporator, where the whole process starts again at the beginning.
